PATIENT & COMMUNITY RESOURCES
Know which research team to contact and which details to verify.
Identify the organization conducting the study
Start by checking the study location and the organization responsible for it. EPCT’s current-studies page covers information about our site. Hospitals, universities, and other research organizations have separate teams and enrollment processes; EPCT cannot enroll you into a study it does not conduct.
Use the original study record
Our El Paso research guide links to ClinicalTrials.gov, a public study registry. Search by location, condition, study name, or an NCT number you already have. Review the record’s last update and the contacts for the location you are considering.
Confirm local availability directly
A study can have several locations, and an online listing may not establish whether a particular site is accepting participants today. Ask the listed team to confirm the location, current status, and appropriate first step before making travel plans.
Prepare a useful first conversation
Ask what the study is designed to learn, who can be considered, what screening involves, and how much time visits may require. Request information about risks, possible benefits, alternatives, costs, and any compensation. Use the study team’s appropriate screening process to discuss medical details.
Keep a record of the source
Save the study name or NCT number and the contact you spoke with. If you found an older EPCT directory page, use our consolidated local guide to return to current records. An archived link is a starting point for verification, not confirmation that enrollment is open.
